Here it is, the last of 137 days of studying abroad, another semester over, another time to say goodbye. I have fallen in love with this little sea town right from the second I arrived and this love has just grown over my time here. I am so thankful for this semester, for the facial expressions upon our failure to answer correctly to "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie", for Guiness on St. Patrick´s Day, for hour long bus rides up North featuring Wodka mixed into McDonald´s softdrinks, for incredible performances of T Swift late at night on Campus, for Chinese take out on floors in Glasgow, for crushes on Scottish tourguides, for giving me the oppurtunity to use as my horrible American slang, for pancake breakfasts, lunchs and dinners, for my porch and sunbathing, for hilarious Snapchat stories, for dying in gym classes with me, for countless 90s songs, for flying for the first time ever just for me and answering my drunk FaceTime calls, when all you wanted to do was sleep.
I am so thankful I was able to live with the sweetest girls on the planet and to find a bunch of wonderful people here. The experiences and friends I made here in Brighton were more than worth the horrible conversion from Euros to Pounds and I am honestly so happy how everything worked out. When I found out my live long dream of going to England was coming true a little over a year ago, I never imagined it would be this wonderful. I have loved every moment of this semester and I will miss so many things.
I will miss all the wonderful coffee shops, my favourite vintage store, the Brownies from Cloud9, the unique vibe of this crazy town and it´s gorgeous building, but more than anything I will miss my friends here. This semester would not have been the same without you guys and I cannot wait to see you again. Here´s to being the lucky ones, who ended up in Brighton by the sea and to seeing your beautiful faces again across all kinds of ponds. I am off for one last days of adventures before I head into a summer full of vacations, work, my favourite people and my cat. Brighton you have swept me off my feet and I can feel this thing with us will last. You are not my first long distance love.
